The key learnings from this module emphasize the transformative impact of AI tools in English Language Teaching. AI tools like Read Theory, Reading Coach, and Reading Progress enable a personalized learning approach, adapting materials to students' levels and interests while promoting engagement and progress tracking. ZenoChat and ELSA Speak offer real-time feedback for conversational practice and pronunciation, enhancing students' speaking and listening skills. Grammarly provides valuable grammar and writing support, improving students' written communication.

 

     Reflecting on these learnings, the knowledge gained will influence my teaching methods by incorporating these AI tools to create a more interactive and tailored learning experience. By using AI for personalized reading materials, real-time feedback, and targeted practice, I will move towards a more student-centered approach that addresses individual needs and fosters a more engaging and effective learning environment. This shift will not only enhance students' skills in reading, speaking, and writing but also make the learning process more dynamic and responsive to their unique challenges and progress.

One specific lesson where I could apply what I've learned is a "Personalized Reading and Pronunciation Workshop." In this activity, students would start by using Read Theory to engage with leveled texts that match their reading abilities and interests. Following this, they would use Reading Coach to explore stories and passages that align with their individual reading goals. To enhance their pronunciation, students would practice speaking the new vocabulary and phrases with ELSA Speak, receiving real-time feedback to refine their accents and pronunciation. Concurrently, they will use Grammarly to review and edit their written summaries of the texts, improving their grammar and writing skills. Throughout the lesson, ZenoChat would facilitate conversational practice based on the texts read, allowing students to apply their new vocabulary in interactive dialogues. This all-encompassing strategy makes use of a variety of AI technologies to handle speaking, writing, and reading comprehension in a coherent and interesting way.
